Born September 7, 1949, in Wheelwright, Kentucky, Steve was the son of the late Garnie Stidham and the late Glenda Jean Hicks. On June 29, 1996, he married the love of his life, Crystal Warner Stidham, with whom he shared thirty wonderful years of marriage.

Steve retired from General Motors after many years of dedicated service. He was a faithful member of Knob Creek Baptist Church, where he especially enjoyed lifting his voice in song as part of the church family. Music was one of the greatest joys of his life. A gifted musician, he played both guitar and bass and spent many years performing with bands, sharing his love of music with family, friends, and audiences wherever he went.

A man who enjoyed working with his hands, Steve could often be found tinkering with anything that needed fixing. He had a knack for small engine repair and took great satisfaction in bringing worn or broken things back to life. Whether making music, repairing an engine, or spending time with those he loved, Steve approached life with a kind heart, a willing spirit, and a quiet generosity that endeared him to everyone who knew him.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Crystal "Chris" Stidham of Columbia; son, Matthew Stidham (Melissa) of Mississippi; stepdaughter, Misty Frizzell (Justin) of Columbia; four sisters, Kathy Swisher (George), Kandi Bailey (Art), Tonya Carter (Mark), and Sherri Maggard; three half-brothers, Cliff Stidham, Jeff Stidham, and Rick Stidham; and his beloved grandchildren, Colin Stidham, Ridley Oliver, Miles Frizzell, and McCartney Frizzell; a host of nieces and nephews; and a very special friend Mutt Compton.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Kelly Stidham; his son, Charlie Stidham; and his sisters, Paula Kuth and Cheryl Kuth.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
