Garry Ray Beard

View Video Tribute View Funeral Webcast Garry Ray Beard, 63, retired employee of Spontex and Wiremasters, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at his home on Turkey Creek Road in the Santa Fe Community. Born September 1, 1957 in Maury County, he was the son of Delvene Beard and the late R.A. Beard. Garry was a 1975 graduate of Santa Fe School. He served four years in the United States Army from 1975-1979. On November 8, 1980, he married the love of his life Elaine Baker Beard. Garry loved his mules, cows, wagon rides, and attending all of his grandchildren’s activities. In addition to his mother, Delvene and wife, Elaine, Garry is survived by his two children, Alicia Dawn (Cory) Ross of Columbia; Jason Colt (Sara) Beard of Franklin; eight grandchildren, Nathan, Nolan, Neely, Nora Kate, Elizabeth, Mary Charlotte, Neena Mae, and Julia; sister, Patsy Goad; nephew, Brian (Lauren); and great nephew, Tyler. The family sincerely thanks and appreciates all of the support and generosity from the Santa Fe Community, many area churches, and all of those special buddies in his life. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Santa Fe School Athletic Department in memory of Garry Beard, 2626 Santa Fe Pike, Santa Fe, TN 38482. A special memorial service will be held Sunday, March 21, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at Garry’s home and final resting place with James Lunsford officiating.
