View Funeral WebcastGary Houston Reese, 52, resident of West 11th Street, died Sunday, November 15, 2009 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Howard Alexander officiating. Burial will be in Fly Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4 - 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 11 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. The Maury County native was the son of the late Marvin Knox Reese and Mary Irene Fly Reese. He attended Santa Fe Schools. He was a driver for Pro-Drivers of Nashville and had been employed by Southern Wrecker Service for several years. Mr. Reese was a member of the Nazarene Church. He is survived by his loving mate, Catha Watkins Reese of Columbia; son, Gary Houston (Kelly) Reese, Jr. of Centerville; daughters, Vergena Lynn Diaz of Columbia, Melissa Kay (Jeff) Bylo of Ft. Knox, Kentucky, Melissa Jane (Andrew) Marlett of Marysville, Michigan, Christy Dawn (Timothy) Pinkard of Columbia; brothers, Marvin Knox "Bubba" (Linda) Reese, Jr. of Columbia, Ronald Reese and Thomas Reese both of Santa Fe, James Rizzardi of Lewisburg; sisters, Rebecca (Arthur) Slaughter and Mattie (Fred) Smith both of Santa Fe, Shelia (Raymond) Reed of Mt. Pleasant, Ethel (Scott) Bailey of Santa Fe; in-laws, Mike (Edith) Watkins of Lewisburg, Patsy (Bill) Brown of Mississippi, Jerry (Donna) Watkins, Rickey Watkins, Sharon (Tommy) Hargrove all of Lewisburg, Bobby (Nancy) Watkins of Hohenwald, Jimmy Watkins of Columbia, Becky Peete, Millie (Marty) Middleton both of Lewisburg, Sandy (Richard) Fleck of Cornersville; twelve grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
