View Video TributeView Funeral WebcastMrs. Geneva Frances Love Davis, 89, homemaker, resident of The Bridge and former resident of Overton Drive, died Friday, October 11, 2013 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with John Vaughan and Wendell Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be offered online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Manford Love and Lou Willie Johnson Love. On July 22, 1950 she married J. C. Davis who preceded her in death on December 29, 1994. As a young lady, Mrs. Davis had worked as telephone operator. She was a member of Graymere Church of Christ. Survivors include daughters, Frances (Kenny) Compton of Columbia; Jan (Garry) Gordon of Santa Fe; Brenda Flanigan of Fort Myers, Florida; son, James C. (Jamie) Davis of Culleoka; brother, Bobby Willis (Betty) Love of Columbia; grandchildren, Jason (Sheree) Compton, Joanna (Steve) Huff, Jon (Lana) Compton, Jordan (Andrea) Compton, Will Davis, Ryan Davis; great grandchildren, Ethan Compton, Summer Compton, Aiden Compton, Jackson Huff, Jacob Huff; special friend, Edith Stevens; sisters-in-law, Joan (Bobby) Dial of Smyrna; Marie Davis of Hutchinson, Kansas, and Jane Davis of Franklin; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sisters, Betty Lou Cheatham and Ruby Hughes and granddaughter, Jennifer Michelle Compton. Active pallbearers will be Jason Compton, Jon Compton, Jordan Compton, Will Davis, Ryan Davis, and Steve Huff. The family would like to express a special thank you to Maury Regional Medical Center 2nd & 3rd Floor Step-down Units, Dr. Shawn Reed and his nurse Shannon, staff of NHC Hillview, her friends and staff at The Bridge.
