Mr. George Merritt Foster, 67, former employee of Premier Manufacturing Support Services and resident of Valley Creek Road in Culleoka,, died Tuesday, November 9, 2010 in Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon Saturday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. A native of Detroit, Michigan he was the son of the late Floyd Barnett Foster and Martha Elizabeth Kowalski Foster. He was a 1960 graduate of Columbia Military Academy. Mr. Foster loved farming, cattle and horse trading and attending auto sales. Survivors include his wife, Linda Slaughter Attkisson Foster of Culleoka; daughter, Shonda Foster of Mt. Pleasant; sister, Suzanne Dugger of Columbia; five stepchildren, Dana Dean of Columbia, Sandie (David) Smith, Torey (Cammey) Kelley, Amanda (Kevin) Ingram and Jason Kelley all of Culleoka; one niece, Katie (Greg) Scott of Columbia; nephew Benny (Greta) Dugger of Mt. Pleasant; four great nephews; and ten step-grandchildren Kelly Good, Dwain Dean, Justin Whitaker, Nathan Whitaker, Leah Kelley, Jacob Kelley, Bailey Ingram, Madison Ingram, Dakota Kelley and Dylan Kelley. He was preceded in death by a nephew George "JoJo" Dugger and step-granddaughter Taylor Ingram. Pallbearers will be Kenny Roland, Zach Scott, Guy Odom, Josh Dugger, Jacob Kelley and Justin Good. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Jenkins, Charles Odom, Terry Dugger, Perry Dugger and employees of Premier Manufacturing Support Services.
