Mrs. Georgia Dean Gibson Wilburn, 83, retired banker and a resident of Columbia, died Friday, January 5, 2024 at her residence.

A private graveside service was held at Rose Hill Cemetery with Rev. A native of Giles County, she was the daughter of the late George W. Gibson and the late Edna Undean McMillion Gibson.  She graduated in 1958 from Central High School attended Columbia Business School and furthered her education at Louisiana State University Banking School program.  Her career in the banking industry expanded over forty years with Middle Tennessee Bank where she retired as Senior Vice President and she managed the Shady Brook Branch for many years.  Mrs. Wilburn was a big supporter of Habitat for Humanity where she had served as secretary and treasurer with the local chapter for many years.  She had many interests that she enjoyed with her husband; buying and selling antiques, and spending time in Gatlinburg.  She was a member of Craft Memorial Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, David Wilburn of Columbia; several nieces and nephews including, Wanda and Terry Peery and their children Rachel Peery and Daniel Peery, Dennis and Melissa Moore and their daughters Daisy (Mike) Romanek and Denise (Davey) Smitherman, Larry and Yvonne Moore and their daughter Beth (Scooter) Sumners; and several other nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
