View Video TributeMr. Gerald "Jerry" Alfred Bishop, 69, resident of Santa Fe, died Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at Williamson Medical Center in Franklin. A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. at Santa Fe Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Sherry Ladd officiating. The family will visit with friends Saturday after 9:30 A.M. at the church. The family suggests memorials to Brightstone, 140 Southeast Parkway Court, Franklin, TN 37064. A native of Flint, Michigan, he was the son of the late Herbert Leander Bishop and Anna Voller Bishop. On April 5, 2010 he married Margaret Lee Parrish Woody Bishop, widow of Tennessee State Trooper William Woody. He was a graduate of St. Agnes School in Flint, Michigan and served in the National Guard during the Vietnam era. Jerry was a true entrepreneur with many successful businesses, including a Burger King franchise for several years. He was also an avid inventor. Jerry and Margaret enjoyed their retirement years together with family and friends, riding motorcycles, cars, dancing, and traveling in their RV. One of Jerry's greatest enjoyments was being around people, especially his friends and earthly family. Jerry will be missed by all whose life he touched with his love, care, compassion and positive attitude. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Dorene Bishop of Longmont, Colorado; Debby Bishop (David) Pearson of Jericho, Vermont; brothers, Bill (Meredith) Bishop of Strawberry Fields, California; Al (Pat) Bishop of Traverse City, Michigan; Bob (Karen) Bishop of Conway, Arkansas; Dan (Carmen) Bishop of Redwood City, California; sisters, Mary Ann Bishop of Franklin; Donna Bishop Scott of Murfreesboro; Rita (Jim) Brockman of Franklin; several nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and great nephews.
