View Video Tribute View Funeral Webcast Geraldine Holcomb Cox, 82, former resident of Whitney Drive in Columbia, died Friday, January 24, 2014 at NHC of Columbia. Visitation will begin Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols concluding with funeral services at 7:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Bob Vassar officiating. The body will be conveyed to Greenwood, South Carolina for graveside services Friday at 3:00 p.m. EST in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. Notes of sympathy may be extended at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Gerald Richard Holcomb and Dixie Mai Harrison Holcomb. Mrs. Cox was retired from Guest Services at Baptist Hospital in Nashville and made her home in Mt. Juliet in recent years. When making her home in Columbia, she was a member of First Baptist Church and was a member of Maury Regional Medical Center Auxiliary. Her interests included flower gardening, cross stitching, her family and her pets. She was married March 13, 1954 to Maurice Edward Cox, Sr. who preceded her in death April 29, 1985. She was also preceded in death by her son, Maurice Edward "Ed" Cox, Jr. November 15, 2013. There are no immediate survivors.
