View Funeral WebcastGirline Mayberry Baird, 88, retired employee of Tennessee Farm Bureau and former longtime resident of Wedgewood Drive in Columbia, passed into eternal life with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at Centennial Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 1:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Wilson Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in Totty's Bend Cemetery in Hickman County. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 - 8:0 P.M. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Alzheimer's Association, 4825 Trousdale Drive, Suite 220, Nashville, TN 37220. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born September 23, 1926 in Hickman County, she was the daughter of the late Arthur A. Mayberry and Alma Ragsdale Mayberry. On December 24, 1949 she married Kenneth Wayne Baird who preceded her in death August 23, 1955. Prior to her employment at Tennessee Farm Bureau, Mrs. Baird had worked at McClellans Store in Columbia for several years. She was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Martha Baird of Madison; grandchildren, Daphne Adams, Kevin Baird, Kurt Baird, and Kendall Baird; and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brothers, Edward Mayberry, Kenneth Mayberry, Elmer "Buddy" Mayberry, and Freddie Mayberry. Pallbearers will be the men of Highland Park Baptist Church.
