Glen Dorris Rodgers

Glen Dorris Rodgers passed away in his sleep on the morning of Saturday, August 29, 2026 at his home in Hendersonville, Tennessee. He was 82 years old.

Glen was a longtime member of the Hendersonville Church of Christ, where he served as an elder for 29 years. He was a dedicated Christian who spent his life in service of Christ and others, serving in missions, visitation, ministries and the initiation of counseling ministry. He was active with Tennessee Prison Outreach Ministry. He was a board member of Church of Christ Disaster Relief Effort and Christian Manor. His professional career was in human resources in the manufacturing industry. He retired in 2012.

Glen graduated from Hickman County High School and from Lipscomb University. He was a lover of nature and an avid outdoorsman. He loved cars, motorcycles, horses, guitars, classic country music and spending time with friends and family.

Glen was a storyteller and a joke teller. He was always the life of the party. Telling tales and making friends were his gifts, and he shared them generously.

Glen is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Patricia Delk Rodgers; their daughter Alison; their son Patrick; their three grandchildren, Savanah, Brittany, and Kinsley; and his sister Fay DeWire. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Carl and Ona Rodgers.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 5th at 2:30 PM at the Hendersonville Church of Christ with Keith Parker and Les Chapman officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be at the Hendersonville Church of Christ on Saturday, September 5th from 11:00 AM until service time at 2:30 PM.

There will be a visitation for family and friends at Oakes and Nichols Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee on Sunday, September 6th from 1:00-2:30 PM. Interment will follow the visitation at Delk Cemetery in Williamsport, Tennessee with Mark Delk, Patrick Rodgers, Jeff Husband, Greg Husband, Gary Leggett, Al Pogue and Steven Delk serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are the current and former Elders, Deacons and staff of Hendersonville Church of Christ.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Effort, Tennessee Prison Outreach Ministry or Whispering Pines Christian Camp.
