View Funeral Webcast Glenna Mae Witherspoon Jones, 90, resident of South Bigby Drive, died Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Ricky Cotton officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The Hickman County native was the daughter of the late Jesse Albert Witherspoon and Beulah Chappell Witherspoon. She was first married to George W. Jones, Sr. who preceded her in death in 1983 then later married Robert Eugene "Gene" Goodin who died in 2006. She was a retired employee of Tennessee Knitting Mills. Mrs. Jones was a Maury Regional Medical Center Volunteer. She was a member of Cross Bridges Baptist Church. Survivors include one son, George W. Jones, Jr. of Columbia; twin sister Mrs. Lenna Hines of Columbia; sister-in-law Mrs. Ella Witherspoon of Knoxville; step-daughters Denise (Dennis) Kitzmiller of Hampshire and Debbie Cantrel of Georgia; beloved niece and caregiver Pam Phillips of Columbia; and several other nieces and nephews. She wa preceded in death by two sisters Hattie Petty, Tisha Phillips and three brothers Clifton Witherspoon, Hansel Witherspoon and Kenneth Witherspoon. Pallbearers will be Loyd Harvell Witherspoon, Shane Petty, Leroy Chumley, Sammy McCanless, Steve McCanless, Dennis Kitzmiller, Harry Miller and Phil VanTrump. Honorary pallbearers will be J.P. Hines, James Hershel King, Tommy Prentice, Allen McCanless and Bobby Fralix.
