Harold Douglas "Buddy" Kelley, 75, retired employee of Kelley's Drywall & Painting, died Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at his residence on Seavy Hight Road. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Eddie Milner officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Mount Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 3:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be offered online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of Beatrice Grimes Kelley Boshears of Mt. Pleasant and the late Stanley Kelley. He is also known to family and friends as "Cowboy". In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Vernell Stewart Kelley of Columbia; daughters, Velba (Eddie) Milner of Columbia; Barbara Alred of Nashville; son, Harold D. Kelley, Jr. of Columbia; grandchildren, Nathaniel Shaw Kelley, Emmanuel Clarence Milner, James Kelley, Jr., Erica Alred, Michael Alred; brothers, Eddie Dean (Shirley) Kelley, Stanley (Norma) Kelley, and James (Barbara) Kelley, all of Columbia; Larry Kelley of Perry County; half-brothers, Joe (Deana) Kelley and Gregg Kelley; half-sister, Evelyn (Mark) Rains; in-laws, Deloise (Jerry) Love, Mildred Kelley, Danny (Dorothy) Stewart, and Roger Stewart; and stepmother, Mary Ann Kelley. He was preceded in death by an infant brother and brothers, Roy Kelley and Wade Kelley, and sister, Bebe Jean Prince. Pallbearers will be Tracy Kelley, James Kelley, Greg Kelley, Nathaniel Kelley, Emmanuel Milner, and Ryan Kelley.
