View Video TributeHeidi Schwendimann Cothran, 38, died Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at her residence on Westgate Court in Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Maury Hills Church of Christ with David Adcox, William B. Lynch and Tom Eddins officiating. Entombment will be in Swiss Cemetery in Hohenwald. The family will visit with friends Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the church. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The family suggests memorials to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 105 Westpark Dr., #415, Brentwood, TN 37027 or Zion Christian Academy, 6901 Old Zion Road, Columbia, TN 38401. A native of Lewis County, she was the daughter of Gary L. Schwendimann and Gypsy Jo Vaughan Schwendimann. She was a 1991 graduate of Columbia Academy and a 1996 graduate of David Lipscomb University where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and was a member of Delta Delta Sorority. She was employed at V&W Ready Mix Concrete Co., Inc. in Hohenwald as General Business Manager. Heidi was an active volunteer and worked to raise funds for American Diabetes Association, St. Jude Children's Hospital, Habitat for Humanity and American Cancer Society. She was Vice-President of ZCA-PTF and volunteered with Dream 514 team for the Belize Education Foundation. She was a member of Maury Hills Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, survivors include her husband, Russell S. Cothran of Columbia; son, Harrison Leo Robert Cothran of Columbia; sister, Cassi Schwendimann (Eric) Parsons of Nashville; maternal grandmother, Martha Ellis Vaughan of Hohenwald; paternal grandmother, Juanita Whitwell Schwendimann of Hohenwald; father-in-law, Connie Mack Cothran of Northville, Michigan; aunts, Scarlette Vaughan Woodall and Judy Bates Schwendimann both of Hohenwald; uncles, Johnny Vaughan of Hohenwald, Van (Aileen) Schwendimann and Tim Schwendimann both of Franklin; sister-in-law, Connie Lynn (Christopher) Parrish of Chicago, Illinois; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Leo Schwendimann, maternal grandfather, Plummer Harrison Vaughan, uncle, Don Schwendimann and mother-in-law, Linda Dorethy Cothran. Pallbearers will be Hans Schwendimann, Tim Hiber, Alan Schwendimann, Noah Woodall, Jason Davidson, Rodney Metoyer, Nathan Sampler and Perry Bass.
