Miss Helen Elizabeth Adkison, 87, resident of Gaskill Branch Road in Santa Fe, died Saturday, December 12, 2015 at NHC Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Brother Don Emmitte and Bucky Rowland officiating. Burial will follow in Adkison Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Monday from 3:00-7:00 P.M. and Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. to service time at the funeral home. Family suggests memorials be made to a charity of choice . Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Irvine Hulm Adkison and Amanda Jewell Harbison Adkison. She was a homemaker and a long-time member of Santa Fe Baptist Church. Survivors include her sister, Lillie E. Adkison of Santa Fe; sister-in-law, Jo Adkison of Murfreesboro; niece, Margaret (Dennis) Pruitt; nephews, Gerald (Faye) Adkison; Larry (Sandra) Adkison; and Clyde (Janie) Adkison; great niece, Marshelia (Ricky) Patton; great nephews, Michael (Vickey) Craig; Terry (Derrie) Adkison; Marty (Carole) Adkison; Nathan (Tracie) Adkison; Cassie (Crystal) Adkison; Derrick (Jessica) Adkison; sixteen great great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Clyde Adkison; Ewell and his wife, Eunice Adkison; and Comer and his wife, Lucille Adkison. Active pallbearers will be Gerald Adkison, Larry Adksion, Clyde Adkison, Michael Craig, Terry Adkison, and Marty Adkison. Honorary pallbearers include Briggs Primm, Danny Fox, Jeff McGee, Earl McKee, Enoch Gerorge, Members of Santa Fe Baptist Church, Telephone Pioneers, and Maury County Sheriff Department.
