View Video TributeMrs. Helen Thompson Kincade, 94, resident of the Hampshire Community, died Friday, December 20, 2013 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Lawrence Jackson and Charles Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Morrow Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 3 - 6:00 p.m. and after 1:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to The Church of God of Prophecy, 1423 Williamsport Pike, Columbia, Tennessee 38401. Condolences may be offered online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Albert LeRoy Thompson and Agnes Kindel Thompson. She was a 1940 graduate of Haylong High School in Mt. Pleasant. On May 12, 1941 she married Ray Kincade who preceded her in death August 4, 2000. Mrs. Kincade was a "Rosie the Riveter" as she worked alongside her husband as a welder in Detroit during World War II. She was a volunteer with the Cub Scouts, was involved in the Maury County 4-H Club and the Isom Home Demonstration Club. Mrs. Kincade was retired from Keith's Florist where she had worked for a number of years. She was a member of The Church of God of Prophecy on Williamsport Pike. Survivors include her daughter, Marianne (Floyd) Stevick of Hampshire; son, David Ray (Gail) Kincade of Hampshire; grandchildren, Michelle Hughes, Hillary (Paul) Whiteside, Rebecca (Brandon) Hughes, Matthew (Megan) Kincade; and six great-grandchildren, Laura Beth Whiteside, William Weston Whiteside, David Kirk Whiteside, Hoyt Levi Hughes, Jase Hunter Hughes and Zoey Nicole Kincade. She was preceded in death by three brothers, William E. Thompson, Allison Thompson, Clyde Thompson and two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Edwards Curry and Sarah Dodson Parker. Active pallbearers will be Jacky Thompson, Jimmy Thompson, Wayne Thompson, Billy Thompson, Jay Dodson, and Danny Dodson. Honorary pallbearers include members of her Sunday School Class at The Church of God of Prophecy.
