Henrietta Cochran McKennon Ward, 80, resident of Duck River, died Thursday, July 17, 2025 at her residence.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, July 21, 2025 at 12:00 PM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Sunday, July 20, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Monday, July 21, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home.

Born April 22, 1945 in Columbia, TN, she was the daughter of the late Henry Ellis Cochran and the late Mary Frances Baker Cochran. On May 29, 2021 she married Leslie Van Ward, who preceded her in death. She worked at Party Place for 22 years, after retiring, she worked as a private caregiver. Mrs. Ward was a strong woman who loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed watching T.V., especially When Calls the Heart, and tending to her flowers. Mrs. Ward was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an avid reader and read her Bible faithfully. She was a longtime member of Anderson Bend Church of Christ.

She is survived by her daughters, Frances Lynn (William) Watkins and Mary Christine (Steven) Thoman; sons, Steven Wayne (Holly) McKennon and Timothy Paul (Vicky) McKennon; bonus children, Adam Ward, Jon (Tonya) Ward, Evan (Jane) Ward; grandchildren, Ashton Lynn Overstreet, Dustin McKennon, Amber Clark, Courtney Clark, Carly McKennon, Tyler McKennon, Anthony Watkins, Kylie Ward, Sam Ward, Jack Ward, Grant Ward, Chase Ward; great-grandchildren, Chole Nicole Kelley, Kristen Hope Kelley, Marcus Anthony Overstreet, Mataeo Overstreet, Ciara Nicole Overstreet; sister-in-law, Linda Jane Cochran; and niece and nephews, Karla Harber, Greg Cochran, and David Cochran.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, Earl Baker Cochran and John Franklin Cochran; and sister-in-law, Shirley Jean Layne Cochran.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
