View Video TributeView Funeral Webcast Part OneView Funeral Webcast Part Two Irene Rebecca Cantrell Campbell, 93, retired bus driver for the Maury County Board of Education and long-time resident of the Bryant Station Community, died Saturday, July 17, 2010 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at Smyrna Church of Christ, Scribner's Mill Road, with Jim Cox, Randy Fox, and Mike Bryan officiating. Burial will follow in Haynes Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Monday after 4:00 p.m. and after 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Smyrna Church of Christ. The family suggests memorials to Smyrna Church of Christ Youth Group, c/o Everett Campbell, 3046 Old Columbia Road, Lewisburg 37091. Notes of sympathy may be sent towww.oakesandnichols.com. Born and reared in Smithville in DeKalb County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Burnie Lee Cantrell and Lola Mai Bryant Cantrell. Mrs. Campbell was a faithful member of Smyrna Church of Christ for many years, loved children, and served as a volunteer at NHC Lewisburg. An excellent cook, she was well-known for her delicious fried pies. She enjoyed her hobbies of gardening and quilting. A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, she is survived by her children, Patsy (Johnny) Graves of Lewisburg, Thomas Ewing (Syb) Campbell of Columbia, Glen Harold (Mary) Campbell of Columbia, Everett Earl (Barbara) Campbell of Lewisburg, and Glendon Wayne (Elladean) Cantrell of Smithville; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; special friend, Pat Osborne of Lewisburg; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Walter Ewing Campbell in January, 1986; sisters, Lena Mae Crumley and Wilma Inglish; brother, Burnie Lee Cantrell, Jr.; and beloved pets, Pete and Suzie. Active pallbearers are Peter Campbell, Michael Campbell, Todd Campbell, Mark Graves, Matthew Campbell, Wayne Cantrell, Frank England, Kyle Luna, Monte Luna, H. P. Crabtree, Adam Wilson, and Scott Bidwell. Honorary pallbearers include nieces and nephews and partners and volunteers at NHC Lewisburg. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Directors are assisting the family with arrangements.
