View Funeral Webcast Mr. J.V. Roberts, 68, retired bricklayer and masonry specialist with Union Carbide and resident of Abernathy Road in Lynnville, died Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at NHC Healthcare of Lewisburg. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Lynnville Church of Christ with Milton Stephens officiating. Burial will follow in Lynnwood Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4 - 8:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. He was a graduate of Spring Hill High School and served in the U.S. Army Federal Reserve. Mr. Roberts loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman and member of the NRA. He enjoyed wood working and masonry. He was a member of Lynnville Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife of forty-four years, Judy Hewitt Roberts of Lynnville; daughter, Julie Grace Roberts of Ashland City; sons, Jason Earle (Amy) Roberts of Lynnville, Jacob Hewitt Roberts of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Jay Earle Roberts, Jared Jacson Davis Roberts, Jebediah Wilkes Hewitt Roberts; sisters, Betty June (James) Coleman of Chapel Hill, Peggy (Ralph) Way of Florida; brothers, Charles (Gloria) Roberts of Summertown, Billy Joe (LaNelle) Roberts of Lewisburg. He was preceded in death by Earl Moore Roberts, Jr., Bobby Gene Roberts and Thomas Wayne Roberts. Active pallbearers will be Rex Roberts, Steve Roberts, Philip Hewitt, Taylor Hewitt, Joe Hewitt, John Payton Hewitt, Jack Hewitt, Brent Thomason and Corey Davis. Honorary pallbearers include Kevin Roberts, Jesse Hewitt, Case Halcomb, Will Hewitt, Brandon Holt, and Will Shinnick.
