View Video Tribute Jack Rogers Willis, 81, retired Maintenance Supervisor for Monsanto Company, died Friday, September 21, 2012 at his residence in the Santa Fe Community. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Anthony Muston officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Born in the Godwin Community in Maury County, he was the son of the late Sidney Willis and Mildred Jacobs Willis. He was a 1949 graduate of Columbia Central High School and served in the Tennessee National Guard. Mr. Willis was a member and active in the affairs of Knob Creek Baptist Church for many years. He was currently serving as a Deacon and was formerly church Treasurer. Following retirement from Monsanto Company after 30 years service, he continued to pursue farming and enjoying the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Loris Jean Warf Willis; daughter, Beth (Kerry) Thacker of Columbia; son, Gary (Kim) Willis of Columbia; grandchildren, SGT. Jason (Lori) Gray, U. S. Army stationed in Killeen, Texas, Kaelin (Dr. Bobby Lee) Hanks of Munford, Joseph (Rachel) Carter of Columbia, and Seth Willis of Murfreesboro; great-grandchildren, Roman Gray and Jackson Gray of Killeen, Texas; and several cousins. Active pallbearers include SGT. Jason Gray, Dr. Bobby Lee Hanks, Joseph Carter, Seth Willis, Ronnie Erwin, Jamie Smithson, and Kaelin Hanks. Honorary pallbearers are Gerald Martin, Deacons of Knob Creek Baptist Church, and Monsanto retirees.
