James Lee Beckenbach

Mr. James Lee Beckenbach, 76, died Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at his residence on 5th St. in Lawrenceburg. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Gibsonville Cemetery with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The Maury County native was the son of the late James Nathaniel "Jack" Beckenbach and Hessie Lee Stewart Beckenbach. He served in the United States Army from 1960 - 1965. Mr. Beckenbach was a self-employed auto body technician and a longtime resident of the Culleoka Community. Survivors include two sons, Ray (Amity) Beckenbach of Columbia; Lee (Tammy) Beckenbach of Lawrenceburg; grandchildren, David Beckenbach, Kayla Rhodes, Krystal Beckenbach, Christopher Beckenbach, Maudie Jennette; and sister, Katherine Beckenbach of Mt. Pleasant. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Norman Beckenbach in 2000. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
