James Wilson Borum, Jr.

James W. Borum, Age 78, and resident of Columbia, TN, died Thursday, February 19, 2026 at his residence.

Born May 20, 1947 in Columbia, he was the son of the late James W. Borum, Sr and the late Jeanne Quarterman Cooper. Jim attended Columbia Military Academy, class of ‘66. He joined the U.S. Army in November 1966 and served a total of 25 years of service, including Vietnam and 2 tours in Iraq.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and his step-father Newsom Cooper and is survived by his sister, Catherine Cooper Walker (Ron) of Bloomington, IN and step-sister, Mary Ann Cooper Moore of Nashville, TN.

Per Jim’s wishes no service will be held. The family would like to give special thanks to Compassus Hospice and Right at Home for their wonderful care.
