James Gray Delk

Mr. James Gray Delk, 59, resident of Lyles, died Tuesday, October 21, 2014 in Hickman County. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 7:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Steve Holmes officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 3 - 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The Maury County native was the son of the late James Porter Delk and Sara Cummins Delk and was a 1973 graduate of Columbia Central High School. He was a self employed master welder and mechanic but he was a farmer at heart and his true passion was working on the family farm in Williamsport. Survivors include his wife, Jennifer "Jenny" White Delk of Lyles whom he married on March 15, 1980; son, Jedediah "Jed" James Delk of Lyles; sister, Janet (Travis) Roberts of Shady Grove; nieces, Jennifer (Tommy) Anderson of Santa Fe, Brandi (Jason) Cox of Dickson, Beth Amshoff of Kentucky, Kristi (Jeff) Daughrity of Chapel Hill, Karen Brooks of Columbia; and brother-in-law, Andy (Kathy) White of Mississippi.
