View Funeral WebcastMr. James William "J.W." Foster, 53, pilot for Paragon Air Freight, died Sunday, November 8, 2009 at his residence on Kippsford Pond Road. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Oakes & Nichols with Wendell Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in McCains Cemetery with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4 - 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The Charleston, West Virginia native was the son of Mary Margaret Erwin Lovell and Monroe Lovell of Columbia. He was a 1974 graduate of Columbia Military Academy. Following graduation he entered the United States Navy and served until 1979. Mr. Foster was a commercial air pilot, flight engineer and flight instructor. Survivors in addition to his parents are a brother, Alan (Marylee) Erwin Foster of Brentwood; niece, Marsha Foster; and nephew, Michael Foster. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Erwin, Dean Erwin, Michael Foster, David Erwin, Frank Watson, David Graham and Ben Haynes. Honorary pallbearers will be Ron Walker and Darrell Connelly.
