View Funeral WebcastJames Thomas King, Jr., 63, retired chemist for the Tennessee Valley Authority, died Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Medco Center of Paducah in Paducah, Kentucky. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Pastor Leland Hayden officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery with military honors at graveside provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of the late James Thomas King, Sr. and Kathryn Adams King. He was a graduate of Heath High School in Kevil, Kentucky and attended Paducah Community College. Mr. King served in the U. S. Army in Vietnam and was a member of American Legion Post #31 in Paducah and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Survivors include his wife, Katie Adams King of Kevil, Kentucky; daughter, Destinee (Randy) Getchey of Sarasota, Florida; sons, Tony King of Princeton, Kentucky and Jason King of Augusta, Georgia; brother, Barry King of Ringold, Georgia; step-daughter, Mamie Clark of Houston, Texas; step-sons, Jeff Wise of Little Rock, Arkansas, Tommy Gonzales of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, David Gonzales of New Bedford, Massachusetts, and Daniel Gonzales of Sherman, Texas; grandchildren, Nicholas Dakin of Tamms, Illinois, Katie Getchey and Patrick Getchey of Sarasota, Florida; 19 step-grandchildren. Pallbearers are Nicholas Dakin, Charlie Lane, Daniel Thompson, Daniel France, Ronnie Gibson, David Augen, and Thomas Gonzales.
