View Video Tribute James Wilson Potts, 83, resident of West 12th Street, died Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Randy Owens officiating. Burial will follow in Potts Cemetery. The family will visit Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of the late Rollie Potts and Bessie Hutcherson Potts. He was retired from W. M. White Construction Company. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved gardening. Mr. Potts was a member of West 7th Street Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, Ruby Malugin Potts of Columbia whom he married in 1950; daughters, Linda (Charles) Collier of Columbia, Janice Roberts of Spring Hill; sons, Marvin Potts and Kenneth (April) Potts both of Columbia, Jerrell Potts of Shady Grove; sisters, Helen (Boyd) Malugin and Daisey (Fred) McCord both of Santa Fe; brothers, Emerson (Paulette) Potts of Water Valley, Roy (Melba Jean) Potts of Santa Fe, Mack (Shirley) Potts of Theta, Wallace Potts of Hillsboro; grandchildren, Nicole Thomason, Tracy Stewart, Troy Roberts, Jamie Potts, Jonathon Potts, James Potts; great-grandchildren, Jacob Thomason, Brooklynn Roberts, Euwin Roberts, Blake Stewart, Ryan Stewart, Nathan Stewart. Pallbearers will be Jonathon Potts, James Potts, Troy Roberts, Dean Adkisson, Randall Adkisson, and Andrew Brooks.
