Jane Baker Collins tips her hat good bye as a Maury County native and wife of the late Thomas Lee Collins, daughter of the late Curtis C. Baker and Essie Lou Alderson Baker. She attended Santa Fe High School and obtained her GED at CSCC at age 52, then furthered her education at CSCC. She was the Sample Department Supervisor at Weather Tamer for 24 years; 8 years at Walmart as cashier; and 7 years at Sunshine Cleaners; homemaker and member of Collegeview Church of Christ in Columbia. She enjoyed young people and working with them; helping those in need; dedicated to her children and loved her pets dearly. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 10:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Brother Greg Gwin will be officiating from Collegevue Church of Christ. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens, in the Garden of Prayer. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Survivors include two daughters, Linda Sue Collins and Barbara Ann Collins Kelley both of Columbia; two sons, Tommy Maurice Collins of Murfreesboro and Jeffery Wade Collins of Columbia; two daughter-in-laws, Betty Denise Brown Collins of Columbia and Pamela Sue Bridges Collins of Murfreesboro; one son-in-law, James Kelley of Columbia; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, plus fourteen step grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Bugg Baker, Henry Baker, Simon Baker, Dick Baker, and two nephews, Larry Baker, Tommy Baker and family member, Russell "Rusty" Price; also including her late beloved pets, Lady, Daisy, Fefe, Baby Doll, Pooh Bear, Lit Moe, Zee Zee, her special pet "Scruffy", and Itty Bitty. Active pallbearers will be Daniel Collins, Milton Baker, Leslie Baker, Curtis Baker, Mike Bridges and Joey Bridges. Honorary pallbearers include Frances, Carolyn and Vickey Baker, Rhonda, Tommy and Wyatt Richardson, Phyllis Coleman, Bonnnie Surratt, Roger Baker, Harry and Judy Sorensen, Audrey Hood, Peggy Madden, Wayne Alderson, Richard Baud, Eugene Heller, Dwight Fox, Gary Weatherford, Margaret Laws, Dorothy Sanders, Dr. Locklar and Maury County Veterinarian Staff, Dr. Gibran Naddy and Staff, Sarah and Elmer Brady, Elmer Potts, Onita Bridges, and Pat Wauford.
