Jane Elizabeth Walker Howard

Jane Elizabeth Walker Howard, 64, retired counselor with Hattie Cotton Elementary School in Davidson County, died Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at St. Thomas West in Nashville.

A private graveside service will be at St. John Episcopal Churchyard in Columbia, TN with The Reverend Chris Bowhay officiating. Online condolences may be extended at www.oakesandnichols.com.

She was born on April 29, 1961 in Peoria, Illinois to the late Beryl Waverly Walker and the late Gwyn Curry Walker Kitchel. She received her Master’s degree in clinical psychology at MTSU. Jane loved antiques and enjoyed having an antique booth at Gaslamp Antique Mall, playing duplicate bridge, riding horses and cooking.

Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Bryan Howard; daughter, Lisa Gwyn Howard; son, Branch Howard (Allyson); grandson, Easton Howard; sisters in law, Lucia Howard, Rita Howard, Elizabeth Howard, Allison Howard, and Janet Anderson; and her beloved dogs, Annie and Fancy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Robert Walker.
