Born July 28, 1922 in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late Albert Fisher Oakes Sr. and Marguerite Page Oakes. She was married for fifty-three years to O. A. Trice who preceded her in death on January 12, 1999. Jane Page was a 1940 graduate of Columbia Central High School. She attended Martin Methodist College, and was a graduate of Columbia Business College. She worked in the business office of her family's furniture factory, Oakes Furniture Manufacturing Company, for several years. On March 16, 1946 she married O. A. Trice of Mt. Pleasant. After living a short while in Sacramento, California, they returned to Columbia where they owned and operated Sunshine Cleaners, and later West End Package Store, and The Oasis until their retirement. Mrs. Trice was a longtime member of the James K. Polk Memorial Association. She was an accomplished pianist, playing for weddings, The Junior Department at First United Methodist Church, the Kiwanis Club, and for the enjoyment of her family and friends. She loved to dance to the music of the "Big Band" era. Her children have fond memories of watching their parents dancing the "jitterbug" in the family's home. All who knew her loved her. She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be missed by many but her family is comforted with the knowledge that she is at home with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
