View Video TributeView Funeral Service WebcastMr. J.C. "Jay" Gray, Jr., 50, resident of Columbia Highway in Lynnville, died Monday, January 9, 2012 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Lynnwood Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Wayne Edmondson-TWRA Youth Hunts, 17B Public Square, Columbia, TN 38401.. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of J.C. Gray, Sr. of Columbia and the late Fay Sullivan Gray. On April 23, 1983 he married Carol Harwell Gray of Lynnville who survives him. He was a former 20 year employee of Inner City Products in Lewisburg and presently was employed with Goodmans in Fayetteville. He loved fishing, hunting, motorbikes, music and was especially attached to his dogs Winchester and Lulu. He was a member of Parkway Baptist Church. In addition to his wife and father he is survived by a daughter, Jayda Gray (Chris) Couch of Murfreesboro; sister, Brenda (Jimmy) Haywood of the Mt. Joy Community; brother, Terry (Tonda) Gray of Scottsboro, Alabama; mother-in-law Joyce Elaine Young of Columbia; sister-in-law, Tammy (Gene Smith) Young of Culleoka; three nephews, Wesley Andrews of Columbia, Charlie Smith and Dustin Smith both of Culleoka; two nieces Amber (Kelvin) Davis of Lafayette, Elissa Gray of Montgomery, Alabama; three great nieces, Cheyenne Davis, Sierra Davis, Skylar Davis of Lafayette; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and two grand dogs, Bella and Lilo. He was preceded in death by a son, Jarret Gray on August 8, 2002 and a brother, Randy Gray. Active pallbearers will be Reggie Andrews, Ray Johnson, Jeff Martin, Johnny Wilson, Mike Thomas, Tracy Adams, Wayne Stinnett and Jimmy Haywood. Honorary pallbearers will be Wesley Andrews, Charlie Smith and Dustin Smith and his many friends.
