Mrs. Jean Grey Renfro Damron, 86, retired registered nurse and resident of Carters Creek Pike, died Sunday, June 15, 2014. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with John Hayes officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 12:00 noon until time of service at the funeral home. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Freida Murel Horner Renfro and was a 1946 graduate of Central High School. She graduated from St. Thomas School of Nursing and worked for several years at King's Daughters' Hospital. Mrs. Damron was a member of Beech Grove Church of Christ. Survivors include her husband of sixty-five years, James Clinton Damron, Sr. of Columbia; son, James "Jimmy" Clinton (Sharon) Damron, Jr. of Columbia; daughter, Sheryl Damron (Phil) Sellers of Columbia; grandchildren, Claire Sellers and James Sellers; sister, Patricia Renfro King of Columbia; and brother, Donald Earl (Charlene) Renfro of Ft. Worth, Texas. She was preceded in death by brothers, William Renfro and Charlie Richardson and sister, Nobline Renfro. Active pallbearers will be Jon King, Wayne Vandiver, Wayne Patterson, Mark Rector, Jerry Henson, Tommy Voss and Thetus Horner. The family wishes to offer special thanks to caregivers, Kaitlyn Jackson and William Johnson.
