View Video Tribute Mrs. Jean Marie Hardison Hardison, 82, resident of North Laurel Circle, died Sunday, November 1, 2015 at NHC Hillview. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 1:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with John Vaughan and Wendell Robinson officiating. Congregational singing will be lead by Andrew Phillips. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 -8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be made to Vanderbilt Down Syndrome Program at Monroe Carell, Jr. Children's Hospital, Vanderbilt University Station B 357727, 2301Vanderbilt Place, Nashville, TN 37235-7727. For question call 615-322-7450. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Oscar Hardison and Clare Arthur Hardison. She was a 1951 graduate of Columbia Central High School and earned an Associate degree from Columbia State Community College. Mrs. Hardison had worked for the Columbia Daily Herald for many years and was a homemaker. She was a member of Graymere Church of Christ. Survivors include her husband, Dan Hardison, Sr., whom she married November 10, 1951; sons, James Dan (Patty) Hardison, Jr. of Wilmington, North Carolina; Randy Wayne (Rhonda) Hardison of Spring Hill; daughters, Julie Marie (Buddy) Jones of Columbia; Janet Lynn (Herb) Smith of Cookeville; sister, Mary Frances Wilson of Crewe, Virginia; grandchildren, Kris Hardison, Carmen (Jimmy) Ford, Amber (Kit) Peden, Jessica (Alan) Connelly, Alison Hardison, and Sam (Callie) Hardison; step-grandchildren, Jessica White, Jonathan White, and Kevin Jones; great grandchildren, Porter Ford, Harper Ford, Tuff Peden, Olli Peden, Lawson Kelly, Finn Patton, Dacey Jones, and Hayden Jones; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sister, Bettie Ann Burcham and brother, Sammie Hardison. Clifton Kelley, Will Frank Woody, Herb Smith, Buddy Jones, Jimmy Ford, Kit Peden, John Markham, and Tony Sowell will serve as active pallbearers. The family would like to express a special thanks to the staff of NHC Hillview and Hospice Compassus.
