Jennie Anderson Filson

Mrs. Jennie Anderson Filson, 102, former longtime resident of Woodland Street, died Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Life Care Center of Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Jeremy Butt officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Condolences may be offered to the family online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Hickman County native was the daughter of the late Willie N. Anderson and Mary Pearl (Williams) Anderson. She was reared in the Totty's Bend area and attended Hickman County Schools. On September 30, 1933 she married Paul Filson who preceded her in death October 23, 1971. Mrs. Filson was a homemaker and member of West 7th Street Church of Christ. Survivors include her brother, Tim Anderson of Columbia; daughter-in-law, Marie Anderson Filson of Columbia; great grandchildren, Jeremy (Mitzy) Filson, Bryan Filson, Ashley Mabry and Eric Boshers; and great-great grandchildren, Sam Filson and Chase Filson. She was preceded in death by sons, Billy Joe Filson, Timothy Filson and grandchildren, Pamela Faye Boshers and Terry Wayne Filson. Active pallbearers will be J.B. Long, C.T. Johnson, Mike Kesler, Mike Anderson and Chesley Thomason. Honorary pallbearers will be Elders and Deacons of West 7th Street and the staff of Life Care Center.
