Jerry Carl Alderson, 68, retired employee of CPS Corporation in Franklin, died Monday, May 12, 2014 at his residence on North Laurel Circle in Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 10:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Kenny McFarlen and Rev. Tommy Vann officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery in the Theta Community. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to New Lasea Church of Christ, 1570 Lasea Road, Columbia, TN 38401 or American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 1864, Columbia, TN 38402. Condolences may be offered online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born August 11, 1945 in Maury County, he was the son of the late Charles H. Alderson and Lettie Hood Alderson. He was a member of New Lasea Church of Christ. Survivors include one daughter, Suzanne (Jeff) Estes of Santa Fe; one son, Heath Alderson of Germantown; one brother, Larry (Joyce) Alderson of Columbia; three sisters, Lois (Frank) Lindsey, Rachel Foster, and Shirley (Tony) West, all of Columbia; sister-in-law, Ruth Alderson of Bethesda; six nephews; and nine nieces. He was preceded in death by brothers, Glenn C. Alderson, Wayne Alderson, Billy Alderson, and Clyde Alderson. Active pallbearers will be Charlie Thornton, Gary Beard, David Patterson, Bobby Powell, Gene Holt, Tommy Jackson, Jim Thurman, and Bill Smith.
