Jerry Wayne Hartsfield, 79, longtime resident of Columbia, died Monday, December 16, 2025 at NHC Maury Regional Transitional Care Center.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, December 18, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Brother Steve Blackwell and Walter Clot officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Born June 6, 1946 in Lawrence County, TN, he was the son of the late Henry Hartsfield and the late Louise Grooms Hartsfield. Jerry spent several years as a dairy farmer, then owned and operated West Point Garage, before retiring as the warehouse manager for Marquis Carpet where he had worked for 12 years. He was a longtime member of Northside Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Patsy Dodson Hartsfield; sons, Sam Hartsfield and Joe Kelley; step-sons, Tony Riggins and Ellis Dodson; grandsons, Landon Hartsfield, Jase Kelley, and Jake (Kelly) Riggins; granddaughters, Hanna Hartsfield and Brittany (Patrick) Hartman; great-grandchildren, Arlen Riggins, Elias Riggins, and Isabella Hartman; sisters, Faye Hartsfield and Pam Black; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Katherine Riggins Hartsfield; and brothers, Bill Hartsfield, Henry Hartsfield, Bobby Hartsfield, James Rex Hartsfield, and David Hartsfield.

Active pallbearers will be Landon Hartsfield, Micah Hartsfield, Jared Black, Tony Riggins, Jake Riggins, Patrick Hartman, Ellis Dodson, Gregg Glass, and Lee Workman. Honorary pallbearers will include Joe Grooms, Dean Nichols, and Larry Brown.
