View Funeral Webcast Jerry Wayne McNeese, 70, retired employee of the Maury County Highway Dept., died Monday, September 24, 2012 at his residence on Ridge Road in the Theta Community. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Brother Rick Points officiating. Burial will follow in Williamsport Baptist Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 - 6:00 P.M. and Saturday from 12:00 - 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be offered online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of the late Malcolm Woodrow McNeese and Sarah Pullen McNeese. He was a former employee of Conalco. Mr. McNeese was very devoted to his cats and had the ability to interact with them when nobody else could. Survivors include his wife Margaret Odielene Hay McNeese whom he married in February 1982; three children, Jeri Faye "Sissy" McNeese; Morris (Tammy) McNeese, and Malcolm Thomas "Tootie" McNeese, all of Columbia; two stepsons, Tommy (Paula) Hay and Eddie Dean (Serita) Harvey, both of Columbia; three stepdaughters, Diane Hutcherson of Theta Community; Deborah Chessor of Lawrenceburg; Pam Dawson of Columbia; brother, Myron (Gayle) McNeese of Columbia; twenty grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and mother of his children, Margaret "Dee Dee" Ellis McNeese. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Claude McNeese and Jimmy McNeese; stepdaughter, Margaret Louise Holt; and great granddaughter, Nevaeh Danielle McNeese. Active pallbearers will be his grandsons and nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of the Maury County Highway Department.
