Mr. Jerry Wayne Pipkin, Sr., 67, resident of Williamsport Pike, died Friday, October 30, 2015 at Christian Care Center of Bedford County. Graveside services will be conducted Sunday at 2:30 P.M. at Scribner's Mill Cemetery with Ricky Clay officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of the late Vernon Eugene Pipkin and Edna Lee Young Pipkin. Mr. Pipkin was a self employed plumber, electrician, and carpet contractor. He later worked for Hobbs Electric. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife Earlene Phaye Fowler Pipkin of Williamsport; children, Tonya Sue Pipkin (Sean) Barnett of Spring Hill; Neva Carol Pipkin of Chattanooga; Jerry Lee Webb of Hampshire; brother and special sister-in-law, Charles Wade and Geneva Pipkin of Columbia; brother, Doyle Lee Pipkin of Kansas City, Kansas; several grandchildren; step-sons, Herbert D. Slaughter and David L. Slaughter. He was preceded in death by a son Jerry Wayne Pipkin, Jr.; and brother Virgil Eugene Pipkin. Family and friends will serve as active pallbearers.
