View Video Tribute Jerry Clark Roberson, 71, resident of Mesa, Arizona and formerly of Columbia died Friday, August 17, 2012 surrounded by family. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, August 25 at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols with Eddie Rogers officiating. Burial will follow at Lasting Hope Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M Friday, August 24 and 1:00 - 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 25 at Oakes & Nichols. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com.Born in Lawrence County and reared in Maury County, he was the son of the late Aldon Clark Roberson and Mary Dale Leighton Roberson. Jerry was a 1959 graduate of Columbia Central High School where he was active in sports and 4-H. Jerry attended the University of Tennessee-Knoxville where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology before graduating from the UT College of Pharmacy in Memphis in 1966. Jerry was a well-loved pharmacist working at several local pharmacies through the years. Jerry graduated from the Nashville School of Law in 1978 obtaining his law degree and then opening a private practice in Columbia. Jerry was a former Columbia Jay-cee, active in the Mesa church of Christ and a son of the Confederate Veterans. He had a life-long love of family and learning. He enjoyed being outdoors and staying busy in his beekeeping hobby. Never one to rest, Jerry was always working on a new project. He had a love for his six Chow dogs, Napoleon, Jasmine, Solomon, Sampson, Sheba, and Reuben James.Jerry is survived by his wife of 27 years, Thelma Jean Murphy Roberson of Mesa, Arizona; a brother, Joe (Judy) Roberson of Columbia; daughters Robyn Roberson (Jeramie) Graham of Columbia and Elizabeth Gooch (Mike) Greggs of Lewisburg; sons, Clark Roberson of Mesa, AZ; Trey (Diana) Gooch of Murfreesboro; Pat (Janna) Gooch of Phoenix, AZ and Day (Liliane) Gooch of Los Angeles, CA; grandchildren, Emily and Maggie Graham of Columbia, Deanna Greggs of Lewisburg; Andrew and William Gooch of Los Angeles, CA; Jared and Zachary Gooch, both of Phoenix, AZ; Jason, Christine, and Derek Harrison, all of Murfreesboro; two great grandchildren, Addison Harrison and Houston Sapp; and nieces, Amy (Chad) Cox of Columbia and Abby (Bell) Couch of Nashville. Pallbearers are Don Chunn, Pat Gooch, Trey Gooch, Shane Hester, Dale Huckaby, and James Robert Leighton.
