View Funeral WebcastMrs. Jewell B Baker Hill, 100, died Monday, March 1, 2010 at her residence on Godwin Road. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Larry McGranahan officiating. Burial will follow in Santa Fe Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Williamson County native was the daughter of the late John Baker and Alabama Hay Baker. On October 15, 1930 she married Malvin Ervin Hill who preceded her in death September 12, 1985. Mrs. Hill was a homemaker and farmer. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, working puzzles and cooking. She was a former longtime member of Union Methodist Church and at its close transferred her membership to Santa Fe United Methodist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Doris (Sam) Caperton of Santa Fe; a son, Dalton Carl (Brenda) Hill of Rockwood; four grandchildren, Zachary (Betsy) Caperton of Santa Fe, Sherry (Venu) Ramanathan of Rockvale, David Hill of Missouri, Brandon Mark Hill of Rockwood; twin great-grandchildren, Allison Hill and Andrew Hill of Paris, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers. Pallbearers will be Zachary Caperton, Venu Ramanathan, Brandon Hill, David Hill, Phil Sutherland and Claude Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Arthur Merritt, German Carlisle, Donald Ragsdale and members of Santa Fe United Methodist Church.
