Jewell Osteen Thornton

Jewell Osteen Thornton, born August 28, 1924, peacefully went to claim her reward for a life well lived on January 25, 2016 in Bedford, Texas. A graveside service will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 11:00 A.M. - 1:30 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on February 7, 2016 from 2:00 - 4:00 P.M. at The Hills Church of Christ in North Richland Hills, Texas. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Marshall County native was the daughter of the late J. T. Osteen and Sadie Love Osteen. She loved the Lord and was a longtime member of Highland Church of Christ. Jewell made friends everywhere she went, with everyone she met. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her beloved family. She was blessed and is survived by her daughter Carolyn Thornton Autry, grandsonsLeighton Autry (Jennilee) & Nathan Hvamstad (Leslie), great-granddaughter VivienneAutry, sister Joan Frye, niece Lee Ann Frye, cousins, and many loving friends.
