Vew Video Tribute View Funeral Webcast Jimmie D. Patton, 73, retired from Columbia Gulf Transmission Company and long-time resident of the Hampshire Community, died Thursday, November 25, 2010 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with David D. Davidson officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. He was a 1955 graduate of Hampshire High School and served in the Tennessee National Guard. Active in church, civic, and community affairs, he was a member of Cathey's Creek Church of Christ, Hampshire Men's Club, Cathey's Creek Community Club, and an enthusiastic booster of Columbia Academy. Affectionately known as "Pap," he is survived by his wife, Bettye Mobley Patton of Hampshire; sons, Jimbo (Mary) Patton of Duck River and Butch (Rachel) Patton of Cross Bridges; grandchildren, Cole Patton and Morgan Patton of Duck River and Max Patton and Mary-Glen Patton of Cross Bridges; nieces, Bonita (Jim) Bratton of Williamsport, Debbie (Stephen) Mencer of Centerville, Kristie (Richie) Turnbo of Columbia; great-nephews, Jim Bratton of Williamsport and Aidan Turnbo of Columbia; sister-in-law, Edith Brooks of Little Lot. He was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Glenn Dooley and brother-in-law, Jimmy Brooks. Serving as active pallbearers are Blair Pogue, Dennie Davidson, Ronnie Hinson, John Sparks, Millard Dale, Jim Bratton, Bobby Grimmitt, and Bobby Lee Runions.
