JoAnn Sanders Seagraves, 83, a resident of Columbia, died Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at her residence surrounded by her family.

A memorial service will be conducted Thursday, December 11, 2025 at 6:00 PM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Pastor Ken Classen. A private inurnment will take place later at Santa Fe Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home.

JoAnn was born on April 30, 1942 in Maury County, TN to the late James Lester Sanders and the late Clara Graves Sanders. She graduated from Columbia Central High School in 1960. On July 17, 1960 she married Edwin Dale Seagraves and he preceded her in death on April 3, 1997. Earlier in life she worked as a bookkeeper and assistant with L.D. Hill & Sons Realty and more recently retired after thirty years as a bookkeeper with Ted’s Sporting Goods. JoAnn was very active in the community; a longtime member of Glendale Methodist Church, also having served as the treasurer for Jane Knox Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, former treasurer for James Madison Sparkman Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, a member of the Maury County Historical Society and the Genealogy Society. She enjoyed many hours of playing Scrabble, and gardening both flowers and vegetables.

Survivors include her daughter and son in law, Beth and Wesley Vick of Cornersville; son and daughter in law, Keith and Laura Seagraves of Kingston Springs; brother Jimmy Sanders of Columbia; four grandchildren, Victoria Vorm (Jason), Dakota Seagraves, Hayden Stewart (Jessica), and Win Seagraves; two step grandchildren, Aaron Vick (Morgan) and Chris Vick; five great grandchildren, Evan Stewart, Kastor Vorm, Persephone Vorm, Selene Vorm, and Helios Vorm; three step great grandchildren, Kara Vick, Jacob Vick, and David Barrs; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister Betty Haynes and a brother Wayne Sanders and two nephews, Shane Sanders and Corey Sanders.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of Glendale Methodist Church, Reverend Frank Smith, Gary Ledbetter and Dr. Lucy Ledbetter, The Penrod family, Diane and Hal Pressnell, and members of F&M Ladies Group.
