View Video TributeView Funeral Webcast JoAnn Roberts Weatherford, 79, retired cashier for Giant Foods for 33 years and former resident of Sunset Avenue, died Sunday, September 4, 2011 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with David Morris and Curtis Dowdy officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. Born in the Lynnville Community in Giles County, she was the daughter of the late Clayborn B. Roberts and Mary Louise McCormack Roberts and graduate of Jones High School. Her husband of fifty-three years, Edward Ray Weatherford, preceded her in death January 6, 2003. Mrs. Weatherford was a member of Highland Church of Christ. Survivors include her daughter, Dianne Weatherford of Columbia; son, Dennis Ray Weatherford of Columbia; sister, Joyce Hollinsworth of Lewisburg; grandchildren, Brad Cole, Ben Weatherford, John Michael Weatherford, and Daniel Ray Weatherford; great-grandchildren, Alexia Cole, Jadaen Michael Weatherford, and Tyler Ray Weatherford; several nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers are Doug Shapiro, Chuck Estes, Steve McMahon, Donnie Joe Cothran, Randy Hubbell, and Mike Hubbell. Honorary pallbearers include current and former employees of Giant Foods.
