View Funeral Webcast Joe Norman "Jody" Hill, 62, died Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at his residence on Riverside Drive. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Judge Bobby Sands officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the Tennessee Elks Benevolent Trust, c/o Lionel Bliss, P. O. A native of Marshall County he was the son of the late Jesse Maurice Hill and Evelyn Shaw Hill. He was a 1968 graduate of Culleoka High School. He was a fireman for Columbia Fire Department and owned and operated, with his father, Hills Army Surplus. Mr. Hill was kitchen manager for the Columbia Elks Lodge 686 and the Sports Page. He was a member of the Columbia Elks Lodge 686 where he was a Past Ruler and also served as Past District Deputy, the Grand Exalted Ruler and Vice President of the Middle District of Tennessee Elks Association. He was also a member of the Columbia Masonic Lodge 31, F& AN and the Al Menah Shrine, the Men's Club and was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include his brother, Ronald (Helen) Hill of Red Boiling Springs; sisters, Bettye Neece and Dottie (Donald) Sneed both of Columbia and Julie (John) Gilbreath of Culleoka; and several nieces and nephews, Kristy Neece, Greg (JoAnna) Neece, Mallory (Randy) Hubbell, Tony Hill and Danny (Natalie) Hill, Julie (Andy) Crichton, Jennifer (Chris) Hillenmyer; several great-nieces and nephews, including his namesake, Jody Neece. He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Charles Neece and a niece, Meredith Sneed. Active pallbearers will be Ronnie Attkisson, Harry Purwanto, Jimbo McCormick, Rick Luna, Jim Matthews, Richard Matthews, Cliff Millikan and Mark Millikan. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff at Sports Page, members of the Men's Shop, Ann Lockamy, Donna Matthews, Trish Holland and Allison Cook.
