Mr. Joel Lynn Hendley, 64, died Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at his residence on Mercer Road in Hohenwald. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Dr. Dwain Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The Maury County native was the son of the late Charles Clifford Hendley and Clara Marie Barnes Hendley Lee and graduated from Maury County schools. He worked at various jobs including Dixie Maid, Betty's Parkway, Evelyn's Restaurant, Polk Theater, and different grocery stores including Dodson's Grocery. Joel loved roller skating, car racing and wrestling. He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his sister, Janice McKennon of Hohenwald, two brothers, Randall (Betty) Hendley of Columbia, Ricky (Diane) Hendley of Trinity, Alabama; and half-sister, Tamatha Lee Taylor of Nashville. Pallbearers include Eddie Vaughn, Johnny Hinson, Danny Dillon, Gary Hendley, Derek Bullion, Randy Hendley, Chris Potts, Troy Hendley and Scotty Nelson.
