View Video TributeView Funeral Service WebcastMr. Joel Lee Pedrick, Sr., 77, resident of East 17th St., died Sunday, January 22, 2012 at Signature Health Care. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Brother Donald Paul and Pastor Tim Paul officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday and Wednesday from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials to the American Diabetes Association, Memorial & Honor Program, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, Virginia 22312. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. A native of Ottumwa, Iowa, he was the son of the late Paul Pedrick and Mary Baird Pedrick. He graduated from Galt High School in Galt, Missouri. He was an Automotive Service Manager at Goodyear where he had been employed for 38 years and for the past five years he was employed at Zip Mart. Mr. Pedrick enjoyed playing the accordion and loved fishing and camping. He was a member of Acts Family Church in Mt. Pleasant. Survivors include his wife of nearly 30 years, Kathy Dawn Ring Pedrick of Columbia; five sons, Joel Lee (Pam) Pedrick, Randall (Vickie) Pedrick, Gary Pedrick all of Franklin, Robin Keith Workman of Springfield, David Craig (Sandra) Pedrick of Mt. Pleasant; a daughter, Diane (Don) Giddens of Franklin; step-son, John Anthony (Kelly) Estes of Columbia; brother, Alan (Helen) Pedrick of Moulton, Iowa; sister, Joan Mang of Lake Stevens, Washington; 14 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; lifelong friends and fishing partners, Shane Riggins and Chris Smith; and the love of his life, his pet Pomeranian, Sparky. He was preceded in death by two sons, Richard Pedrick and Jimmy Dean Pedrick. Active pallbearers will be Tommy Cook, Perry Pugh, Chucky Baker, David Ring, Don Giddens and Chris Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Brent Pedrick, Cory Pedrick, Jeff Pedrick and past and present employees of Goodyear and Zip Mart.
