John Thomas "Tom" Brewer, Jr., 83, retired broker for Valor Marketing Inc., and resident of Columbia, died Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at NHC Maury Regional Transitional Care.

A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, July 26, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church with The Rev. Theodore Edwards, Jr. officiating. Inurnment will follow in St. John’s Churchyard with military honors provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends on Saturday, July 26, 2025 from 9:00 AM untill 10:00 AM at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.

Born December 23, 1941 in Little Rock, Arkansas, he was the son of the late John Thomas Brewer, Sr. and the late Margaret Ann Langhammer Brewer. John served in the Army National Guard from 1957 until 1965. On December 1, 1972 he married Beverly Ann “Bee Bee” Paul, who preceded him in death on January 26, 2016. Mr. Brewer was a member of the Graymere Country Club and the Columbia Elks Lodge. He was a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.

He is survived by his son, R. Christion (Denise) Brewer of Columbia, TN; stepson, Paul Edward Waschka of El Dorado, AR; granddaughter, Kaitlin Brewer (Jeremy) McDuffie of Columbia, TN; and great-grandchildren, Malcolm McDuffie, Virginia McDuffie, Theodore McDuffie, and Samuel McDuffie.

In addition to his wife, Beverly Brewer, and his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest Keith Brewer; and stepson, Larry Waschka.
