John "Ray" Flowers

John “Ray” Flowers was born on November 24, 1959, in Columbia, TN and passed away at his home in Fayetteville, TN, surrounded by loved ones, on October 22, 2026 after a long battle with multiple health conditions. Though his absence leaves an immeasurable void, the love he gave will remain forever in the hearts of those fortunate enough to know him. Ray was a devoted family man and a hard worker who could fix just about anything. He loved being on the road driving big trucks and was referred to as an “old school gear jammer” by long-time friends.

Ray is preceded in death by his parents – Mary Johnson Flowers and John Flowers and brothers-in-law Bernie Caperton, Johnny Sealy and Joe Dennis Dobbs.

Ray is survived by his beloved wife of thirty-eight years Regena; daughter, Kelly Taylor (Bobby); grandchildren, Lauren Agosto (Kiara), Darrell Dye (Kati), and Hayden Dye (Shelby); his treasured great-grandchildren; sister; Pam Huffman (Charlie); sisters-in-law, Frieda Dobbs and Amy Bridges (Mike); along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, October 27, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Online condolences may be extended at www.oakesandnichols.com.

Pallbearers are Darrell Dye, Hayden Dye, Bobby Taylor, Steve Wilson, Tim Snider, and Charlie Huffman.
