John William Reischman, 55, resident of Columbia, passed away Wednesday, January 28 at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro. John passed away peacefully surrounded by those who loved him.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 5:00 PM at First Family Baptist Church in Columbia. The family will visit with friends Saturday, February 7, 2026 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at First Family Baptist Church. The family suggests memorial be made to Regions Bank, 610 North Garden Street, Columbia, TN 38401 for the children of John Reischman. Online condolences may be extended at www.oakesandnichols.com.
Born December 9, 1970 in Columbia, TN, he was the son of Katherine Zaunbrecher Reischman and the late Robert Dennis Reischman. John was a graduate of Columbia Central High School and earned his Bachelors of Business Education from Middle Tennessee State University. John worked for Southern Pipe and Supply for 27 years. John loved farming, hunting, and cherishing time with his family. John was baptized and grew up attending St. Catherine’s Catholic Church. He attended First Baptist Church in Columbia with his family. John’s humor, love of storytelling, and willingness to help others made him unforgettable.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Alison Belew Reischman; children, Luke William Reischman and Kyleigh Ann Reischman, both of Columbia; mother, Katherine Zaunbrecher Reischman of Culleoka; brother, Robert Joseph (Bethany) Reischman of Columbia; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Carroll Stanley Belew and Mary Alice Braswell Belew of Leoma; sister-in-law, Carolee (John) Belew Johnston of Villa Rica, Georgia; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
John was preceded in death by his father, Robert Dennis Reischman, and grandparents: Richard Andrew Zaunbrecher and Verna Johnson Zaunbrecher and Joseph Sebastian Reischman and Edna Evers Reischman.
