View Video TributeView Funeral Webcast Jonathan Hunt Dugger, 72, retired employee of Union Carbide and former longtime resident of Culleoka, died Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at his residence on Embassy Drive in Murfreesboro. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 3:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Pastor Bryan Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Sunday after 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be made to Alive Hospice, 1718 Patterson Street, Nashville, TN 37203. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of the late Jonathan Hunt Dugger and Virginia Ross Dugger. He was a 1956 graduate of Culleoka High School, attended Martin Methodist College and earned his Bachelor's Degree from Middle Tennessee State University in 1963. He had one year post graduate work at University of Tennessee in Nashville. Mr. Dugger was a member of Blackman United Methodist Church in Murfreesboro and former member of First United Methodist Church in Columbia. A very devoted family man, he is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Bettie Calvert Dugger of Murfreesboro; daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and LTC Ralph Standbrook of Manassas, Virginia; Sarah and Gary Fleming of Franklin; three grandchildren, Jonathan Hunt Standbrook and Abigail Katherine Standbrook, both of Manassas, Virginia; Emily Elizabeth Fleming of Franklin; mother-in-law, Marjorie Gabell Calvert of Nashville; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Barbara and Billy Dial of Brentwood; three nieces; two nephews; and several great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Ann Ross Owen and Edwin Owen. Active pallbearers will be Dennis Holden, Michael Dial, Brad Fleming, Landon Fleming, David Hobbs, Jim McGrew, Ed Morton, Jim Goodloe, and Scott Mennen. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Holden, John Sloan, Larry Calvert, John Goodloe, Roy Mitchell, Troy Mitchell, Donald Sanford, Doug Widhalm, Bill Abernathy, Odell Sharp, Joe Cecil Crews, Gene Howell, Bud Richardson, Bill Ambrose, Whitthorne Hickman, Tracy Allen, Jimmy Mosier, Ron Dougherty, and retired employees of Union Carbide.
