View Video Tribute Joyce Marie Woodard Jones, 49, resident of Tindell Lane, died Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Oakes & Nichols with Bro. Gene Woodard officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family in care of Gene Woodard, 420 Woods Dr., Columbia, TN 38401 to help with expenses incurred during Joyce's illness and death. A life-long resident of Maury County she was the daughter of the late Alvin Woodard and Margaret Louise Johnson Woodard and the late Edgar Johnson and Helen Lucille Street Johnson. She was a 1980 graduate of Culleoka High School and attended Columbia State Community College. On July 3, 1982 she married Carl S. "Chubby" Jones of Columbia who survives her. Joyce was employed by Food Lion in Spring Hill and had previously worked for Whiskers Restaurant. She and her husband formerly owned and operated Village Pizza in Columbia. She loved her nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and was an avid Tennessee Vols fan. Survivors in addition to her husband include two sisters Patricia Ann (Johnny) Cline of Pulaski, Virginia (Larry) Baxter of Culleoka; brother Gene (Kathy) Woodard of Columbia; sister-in-law Patricia (Michael) Middleton of Hohenwald; brother-in-law Bill Spivey of Columbia; 10 nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister Ann Spivey. Pallbearers will be Brian Spivey, Jeremy Spivey, Larry Baxter, Jr., Jonathan Francis, John Chorba, Chris Cline, Kevin Huffman and Rich Kilburn. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Food Lion and her extended family Shelly Cole, Tina Chorba, Dustin Cole, Luke Baxter, Trenton Spivey, Sydney Spivey, Trevor Spivey, Sarah Spivey, Savannah Baxter, Jasmyn Baxter, Kellianna Chorba, Alaya Chorba, Charmaine Brown, Sonda Cline, Gina Martinez, Donnie Vandiver, Dale Vandiver, Don Vandiver, Janie Vandiver, Kim Neal, Taylor Neal, Erin Neal, John Logan, Donald Francis and Patricia Francis.
